Acting Up

The client was 'acting up' as his superior was on sudden, extended leave due to illness.  Several ongoing projects meant that there was no time to waste and that the client needed to 'hit the ground running.'  To be effective in the new role the client needed to rapidly resolve some conflicted situations as well as continuing to cover his normal 'day job.'

The coaching meetings used a dialogic model to map conversational contributions which the client then, in turn, began to apply organisational meetings.  Some difficult situations were defused as the client gained awareness of the 'form' of the conflict and was then able to extend his repertoire of contributions.  By the time the client's boss returned to work a significant procurement project was well under way and the client had gained valuable experience and development in a variety roles.
